About CPD

USF Health’s Office of Continuing Professional Development is a not-for-profit, academic provider of continuing education for healthcare professionals. The OCPD provides accreditation, education, and conference management services to meet the needs of clients regionally, nationally, and internationally.

The mission of the OCPD is to advance the competence and performance of healthcare professionals through the creation of a scholarly environment that fosters excellence in the lifelong goals of education, research and patient care. As an academic center of excellence, emphasis is placed on collaboration with the QI divisions of USF Health and the affiliate hospitals to provide activities that focus on patient care improvement.

The OCPD has been designing and implementing educational activities for over two decades. These activities run the gamut from a small dinner meetings to complex multi-day conferences to skills-based hands-on courses to enduring materials.

  • Instructional Design & Accreditation Management
    • Gap analysis collaboration, research, and review
    • Educational methodology guidance
    • Learning objectives development
    • Continuing education credit application review and designation of credit
    • Content validation and conflict of interest resolution
    • Evaluation creation and results summarization and analysis
    • Outcomes measurement design & analysis
    • On-site accreditation compliance oversight
    • Solicitation and management of commercial support
    • Documentation and monitoring of continuing education process
    • Abstract solicitation and review
  • Conference Management
    • Initial planning and site selection, including on-site familiarization trips to properties
    • Contract negotiations and logistics management with vendors, including facilities, catering services, and AV services
    • Speaker selection, confirmation, and coordination of travel arrangements
    • Budgeting and complete financial management
    • Management of a database for participant registration and confirmation
    • Advertising, including brochure design, printing, and distribution
    • Syllabus / handout book preparation and printing
    • Creation and summarization of participant program evaluations
    • Complete on-site conference management
